37 APPOINTMENTS (cont’d) JOSEPH L. RAGSDALE has been promoted to superintendent of the new RC Department in the Film Division plant at Pisgah Forest. He was supervisor of dispersion coating prior to RC Department. July 1967 as a his move to the He joined Olin in coating develop ment engineer and later worked as a polymer and cellulose research engi neer. He was a quality project engineer before being named dispersion coat ing supervisor. A native of Cleve land, Tenn., he attended schools in Bradley County, Tenn, and earned his B. A. degree in Chemistry and Mathematics at Berry College. He received his Master’s degree in Chemical Engi neering at the University of Maine, where he had a 3M-TAGA Research Fellowship. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Technical Assoc iation of the Graphic Arts (TAGA). *** WILLIAM J. GENE TINSLEY has been pro moted to assistant supervisor, materials and stores, in the Film Division plant at Pisgah Forest. He has been with Olin since Sep tember 1956. He was a coating operator prior to being named a production accountant in the plant’s Cost and Records Section. A native of Brevard and a graduate of Brevard High School, he completed a course in Cost Accounting offered by International Correspondence Schools. Jimmy Reese, Jr., left, is congra tulated by Garza Baldwin, Jr., president of the Fine Paper and Film Group, on being named to the United Paperworkers International Union’s Occupational Safety and Health Committee, scheduled to meet initially in Flushing, N. Y. in early October. Reese will meet also with management safety per sonnel to weigh OSHA changes in GENE GILLIAM has been appointed supervisor of production planning in the Ecusta Paper Division. He was a production planner prior to this move, having previously served as shipping fore man. He was employed in De cember 1958 as a rewinder op erator in the Inspection De partment and moved to the Shipping De partment in 1960. He is a native of Henderson Coun ty and attended schools at Dana. He served with the U. S. Air Force. special paper industry standards under consideration by the U. S. Department of Labor. He is finan cial secretary of UPI Local 1971 and is Union chairman of the Company-Union safety committee. They are pictured with the other Union representatives on that committee, Dewey Sizemore and Betty Harrison.
